UA&P’s Commitment to Mentoring
At the University of Asia and the Pacific, we have identified mentoring as an essential part of the education we impart to our students: a crucial component of our commitment to personalized education and holistic formation. By choosing to work in UA&P as an educator, a faculty or staff member makes the very important and fundamental decision to take as his or her own the University Credo, down to its last implications. Believing that the focal point of education is the individual person and that its primary purpose is the person’s integral formation requires more than just a commitment to teach subjects — it demands a commitment to helping attain the fullest development of our students. Thus, education and mentoring are inseparable.
In light of authentic human development, student mentoring in UA&P has a specific purpose: to strengthen the foundations for the student’s life-long growth in character. Thus, the aim of mentoring is the student’s holistic personal formation, which may range from the human, social, academic and professional aspects of the person to the deeper behavioral, attitudinal and spiritual dimensions.
