What is ASSET

The unexpected transition to online learning brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic has posed various new challenges to student learners.

In response to these, the UA&P Center for Student Affairs (CSA) offers the Academic Support Service for Efficient Transition to Online Learning (ASSET). This course aims to help UA&P students come up with personalized and research-based strategies for success in independent learning.

The topics and content of the ASSET modules have been curated based on feedback expressed by UA&P students in various surveys that were run during the 2nd Semester of SY2019-2020.

Who can take the ASSET course?

All UA&P students enrolled in Midyear Term 2020, including JCAAP and FAAP students. Enrolled students who have trouble accessing the ASSET course on Canvas may email academic.technologies@uap.asia for assistance.

PEER Program

The Peer Facilitators Program is an intervention approach that utilizes trained and capable students to help their fellow students. The peer facilitators are the “extension arms” of the CSA Office of Student Mentoring, Guidance and Counseling. The Peer Facilitators Program provides training on facilitation, counseling, and other interpersonal skills. This program enriches the students’ opportunity to meet friends, help other people, and find more meaningful campus experiences in the process.

This program is designed:

  1. To promote a concept on self-mastery and self-giving through volunteer work.
  2. To facilitate the development of values and traits for both the peer facilitators and their peer(s).
  3. To have a more extensive function of the CSA Office of Student Mentoring, Guidance and Counseling, the genuine empathy of the peer facilitators can reach more students in need.
